I was just thinking that it would be neat for Morgan and Jaron to get cards/notes from friends and family while we are in Haiti for the 8 weeks. If you or your children would like to draw a picture or write a note to either or both kiddos, please make sure to give it to me by Monday, May 14th so that I can pack them and give them to the kids while we're there. I know that they will miss everyone while we're gone and thought this might be a fun way to encourage them while we're gone. If you want to send your letter via snail mail, leave a message and I can email you our address.
Thanks SO much! I know the kids will LOVE this surprise...they LOVE getting mail!

Well friends, we are one month (from yesterday) away from boarding our plane to Haiti!
I can't believe it - we'll be in Haiti longer than the time that we have left until we leave.
I really am excited and looking forward to this trip. There are still so many unknowns and I'm looking forward to seeing how God is going to use our family during our time there.
Morgan and Jaron are so thrilled and anxious to go. I hear almost daily from one of them, "Is it the day we're going to Haiti yet?" I know God has some precious things in store for their little hearts.
Just last week I was starting to feel a little overwhelmed and unqualified to be going to teach English and to mentor the teachers at the orphanage. Really, who am I? I struggled with planning the right thing - anything for that matter. How was I supposed to know what these children needed? How they learned? At my bible study, one of the ladies told me that God loves these children and knows them. I don't know them, but I know that God has called me. And walking in obedience is all He asks. He will equip me and give me the words and the ideas when the time is right. It is such a different (refreshing) way of thinking than the way we think here in the States. I'm loving the fact that I really have to rely on my Father to help me and give me what I need. It's such a hard, yet wonderful place to be.
Keep those prayers coming friends, We really do appreciate them!!

Hello all!! My bible study is putting on an event in a couple weeks that I would LOVE for you to be a part of! We have the opportunity to bless women around the world who are refugees, single mothers, widows, physically disabled, women and children rescued from human trafficking, orphans, and many others. Heavenly Treasures offers groups a way to sell these women's product and ensures that they will receive 100% of all sales!! We are bypassing Trade Stores so that every penny sold will be given back to these women.
Visit www.heavenlytreasures.org for more information. We would LOVE for you to drop by Exit 59 Church in Gas City on April 21st any time between 10am and 1pm to support these women. We will even have some yummy snacks for you to munch on while you shop!!
If you could, we would greatly appreciate you sharing this event with your friends and family so that we will be able to truly bless these sisters in Christ all around the world.
